Contemporary Front Garden, West Finchley, London

As with many suburban properties, the front garden of this semi-detached house in North London had been almost entirely paved over. The owners wanted a practical solution to improve the look of the front garden whilst retaining parking for one car and safe, level access across the garden to the front door.
In order to improve the aesthetic of the front of the property and adhere to sustainable drainage strategies, additional planting beds were reinstated to soak up excess rainwater and prevent flooding. As the garden was on a slope, a natural-looking, permeable paving solution was proposed for the driveway and paths.
A low maintenance planting scheme consisting of ornamental grasses, small shrubs, and bulbous perennials for year-round curb appeal was proposed, proving you can park cars and still have room for plants.
