I offer planting design as a standalone service or as part of a larger garden design project. Plant preferences, colour, year-round interest, focal points and practical considerations, such as screening, will be discussed once the layout of your garden has been approved. Alternatively, you may just require ideas for a small area of your garden. Unique schemes can be created for a single border or your entire outdoor space.

 

Planting Plan

Once your plant preferences have been agreed, I will arrange a convenient time to test the soil, measure-up the garden or beds and take photographs if this hasn’t already been done. When all the information is in place, a Planting Plan can be drawn up. This is a scale drawing that indicates the planting position and number of plants required for any given space, with clearly labeled species and cultivar names. Photographs and full-colour illustrations of the planting can be provided to give you an indication of how your garden will look when it's established.

 

Plant Schedule

In conjunction with the Planting Plan, I will prepare a Plant Schedule. This is a list of all the plants that are on the Planting Plan with specifications on the quantity, size, and shape required. These are all the details that your landscaper or nursery will require in order to quote for supplying the plants.

 

Planting

If required, I am happy to order plants on your behalf. I can organise and oversee a team to plant up the garden and be there on the day of delivery to check the plants and set them out. Once the garden is planted, I can provide you with an optional, monthly Maintenance Schedule to ensure your investment is kept looking at its best for years to come.​
